beargrass #1



4800' up in the Willamette National Forest of the Cascade Range in Oregon, every year in late June the exquisite long-stemmed blossoms of the Lily Family,Xero Phyllum Tanax (BearGrass)burst into bloom, and photographers from far and wide gather to dance in the moonlight and roll in the elongated spiny blades of grass that mound up around the base of the plant. With the sunrise, sanity returns and cameras, poised on tripods, turn toward their prey, and snapping with deliberation, partake in the luminosity of the day...
